Too Good To Be Altogether Lost Cover Art Creation

The painting on the cover of TOO GOOD TO BE ALTOGETHER LOST is by Laura Ingalls Wilder herself. Painted on cardboard in the early 1880s, when she was a teenager in Dakota Territory, it proved extraordinarily challenging to photograph.

Here’s a glimpse of how this was accomplished, with thanks to photographer Nathan Springer and Tana Melton, curator at the Laura Ingalls Wilder Home Association in Mansfield, Missouri.
